Pilates on Apparatus

The Reformer

The most well known piece of equipment in the Pilates repertoire is the Reformer. A movable platform and adjustable resistance springs challenge core balance and stability while increasing strength and flexibility in the arms and legs.

The reformer is an excellent tool for conditioning the body for sports such as
golf, tennis, skating, skiing, dance and gymnastics.

The Stability Chair

This machine provides a full-body workout while continuing to challenge core balance and stability, the cornerstones of the Pilates method.

Workouts on the Stability Chair™ are ideal for those who need to stay in a seated or upright position, such as pre-natal clients and those presenting with back conditions that limit spinal mobility.

Barrels

Barrels can be used to support the body and assist with an exercise, or to challenge spinal mobility and thus increase muscular strength and flexibility. There are three types of barrels:

Arc Barrel

Its low curve provides just the right amount of lumbar support for the rehab client or for those with lower back pain.

Spine Corrector

A medium-height curve take the repertoire from the arc barrel a step further. Exercises performed on the Spine Corrector target the abdominal, back, hip and shoulder girdle muscles providing a fantastic toning workout.

Spine Supporter

This sloped recliner provides lumbar and neck support for the rehab client or the pre-natal client. Exercises performed on the Spine Corrector target the core and legs primarily and when used with resistance bands or weighted balls, can also strengthen the arms and shoulders.
